The Tenkaichi Budoukai is a martial arts tournament held every three years. The contestants consist of the greatest fighters from around the world and the prize for winning is the title of world champion and usually a large money prize. When a fighter loses a match they are out of the tournament and the winner proceeds to the next round. To lose, a fighter can either be knocked out of the ring, give up, or be knocked unconscious. They can also be disqualified from the tournament if they use any type of weapon, if they leave during their match, or if they kill their opponent.
